Hope this helps but if not feel free to contact me if you need further clarfication. I also backup all my HRD logs to dongle as well as hard drive. Either way you would use the certificate you have set up for /P for creating your TQ8 for upload of your portable log. One log with different profiles and you select which callsigns you require to upload by means of profiles / display log filter. From here I create a new TQ8 file for the new file (having deleted the old one) and then via LOTW login I upload the file from my desktop. If I do this option, I export the entries to a file called LOTW upload which I save on the desktop and overwrite each time I save to it. From this list you can, using select multiple entries (shift / control and mouse) highlight the ones you require and then export as a file. Using the filter, you can select log by tick AND (select) Station callsign (select) EQUALS and enter the callsign you wish to filter. You can then have your log display the chosen fields that you require and on mine the last display field is the station callsign (yours from profile selected). Thus, I have profiles created for GM6., GW6./P, GW6./M, G6./P, MM0. This would allow you to enter your various fields of information eg. You could use your existing log and create profiles from within the add log entry - my station (sheet title toolbar list) - set up profile and save. A small dongle for exporting / importing between HRD on different machines would be needed.Ģ. Exporting entries from the respective logs to LOTW.
This is where you could keep different logs opening up and selecting the log you require. Instead I close it down on start up and then open up my master log from the open option. If you were to work a station and then save it,it would save to this file. The default log that opens when you open up the logbook is not used by me and is blank when it opens up. You could set up a log purely for portable work on your laptop as well as one for each on your main shack pc.
